Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar Review

Roadmaster Falcon 2  Tow Bar Review

As Everyone May Or may not know Ive grown up around roadmaster products and can install anytihng and everything they make faster than most people can dream of..

It has come to my attention that alot of people are still using the Falcon 5250 Tow bar and well every time i see one I offer customers a $100.00 Discount towards a new one if they upgrade to a Falcon 2 Or A Falcon All Terrain tow bar.

Reason why is well the Falcon 5250 Was Replaced with the Falcon 2 ANd Odd's Are your Falcon 5250 Is pretty Old and ready to be replaced.

Now Problem is alot of people dont want to part with it because they are well still working really well for them..

Thought everyone should know that the Falcon 2 is Just as easy to use if not easier in my opinon.

It is a great tow bar and will last just as long as your old 5250 so why not upgrade and have piece of mind knowing you have the latest model available at roadmaster.

Main reason to replace is the bushing's do get wore out over time and if you have not had them replaced atleast have them inspected by a tow bar professional or authorized dealer.

Roadmaster invisibrake

A revolutionary innovation in supplemental braking.

NOTHING. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Nil. That's what you have to do to connect and disconnect InvisiBrake.

There's nothing to take in and out of your towed vehicle and there's nothing to push, pull, set, adjust, activate or deactivate.

What could be easier than nothing at all?

What is InvisiBrake?
InvisiBrake is a fully-automatic supplemental braking system that uses the electrical connections already in place on your towed vehicle (the towed vehicle’s electrical harness) to brake when you brake the motorhome the same electrical signal that activates the towed vehicle’s brake lights also activates InvisiBrake.

Features

• Completely out of sight InvisiBrake is so small (8¾" x 8¾" x 2¾") it can usually be mounted under the driver’s seat, under the rear seat, behind interior panels or in the trunk, without sacrificing any of the vehicle’s usable space.

Set it and forget it braking Once it's installed, InvisiBrake just works. There's nothing for you to remember not even an on switch just plug in the umbilical cord like you always do and you're reayd to go!

Charges your battery while towing InvisiBrake connects directly to the towed vehicle’s battery and trickle charges the battery during towing InvisiBrake will never drain the battery.

Two-stage motorhome monitor InvisiBrake includes an LED monitor for a visual reference of braking activity; an audible alert at the motorhome will warn you if the brakes have been on for too long.

Activates only when the motorhome’s brake lights illuminate — no false braking!

• Energizes your power brakes most braking systems work on a 'dead' brake pedal. InvisiBrake energizes your power brakes so that you have the same power braking system while towing as you do while driving.

Works in virtually any towed vehicle with vacuum-powered brakes including hybrids and those with 'active' (or 'continuous power assist') braking systems. To see if InvisiBrake works with your vehicle, check our fit list.

Includes an emergency break away system

Easily adjusts to individual braking preferences braking pressure is adjustable from five to 100 psi.

Meets U.S. and Canadian braking requirements

Why Do I Need Supplemental Brakes?

How do you stop a stick of dynamite? If you tow a vehicle behind your motorhome, that’s not a rhetorical question at highway speeds, the momentum of a 3,000-pound towed vehicle (say, a Ford Focus) has the kinetic energy of a quarter stick of dynamite (425,000 foot pounds of force). A 6,000-pound Jeep Grand Cherokee has the kinetic energy of a half stick of dynamite (850,000 foot pounds of force). And, a 10,000-pound Chevy Silverado has the kinetic energy of three-quarters of a stick of dynamite (almost 1,500,000 foot pounds of force).

That’s according to the law the second law of motion.

Like every other law of physics, the second law of motion “force equals mass times acceleration” isn’t open for debate. “Mass” (the weight of the towed vehicle) times “acceleration” (65 miles an hour, in the examples above) equals “force.” Always. Which creates, in effect, a 3,000 to 10,000 pound battering ram aimed directly at the back of the coach.

The laws of physics don’t recognize state boundaries. So it doesn’t matter whether you’re towing in Texas, Massachusetts or British Columbia there’s no getting around the long arm of the second law of motion. Or, for that matter, the third law of motion “for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction” every time you hit the brakes.

Motorhome brakes aren’t built to stop an additional 3,000 or 4,000 (or 10,000) pounds of towed weight. They’re built to stop the weight of the coach and its contents.

But even if you had an extra two or three tons of braking capacity, the weight of a towed vehicle isn’t over the motorhome’s brakes. It’s pushing on them from behind.
So it’s not surprising, then, that safety is the number one reason most people add a supplemental braking system. Supplemental brakes take the load off the motorhome, and the motorhome and the towed vehicle brake in tandem, taking significantly less time and distance to come to a controlled stop approximately 34 percent less, according to a study* by ROADMASTER (see the “Test Results at 50 mph" chart).

Supplemental brakes also relieve stress on the tow bar and the mounting brackets — a panic stop without supplemental brakes is a leading causes of tow system failure. They also keep the combination straight as you brake, so there’s less chance of a “jackknife.” And supplemental brakes reduce the chance of a catastrophic brake failure at the motorhome, as a result of sustained braking — for example, when you’re driving down a steep grade in the mountains.

Safety notwithstanding, there are several other compelling reasons to add supplemental brakes…

It’s required To one degree or another, every state and province in North America has recognized what the second law of motion implies. Which is why supplemental brakes are required in virtually every state and province. The majority of states, plus many Canadian provinces, specify 3,000 pounds as the maximum weight which can be towed without supplemental brakes, according to the American Automobile Association.

There’s currently no national standard, and the towed weight limits vary from state to state (and in Canada, from province to province) 4,500 pounds in Texas, 10,000 pounds in Massachusetts, and 3,080 pounds in British Columbia (again, according to the American Automobile Association).

There is, however, that universal standard “force equals mass times acceleration.” Whether you’re in Texas, Massachusetts or British Columbia, every towed vehicle combination is always in compliance with the second law of motion.

Chassis warranty and liability Some motorhome chassis manufacturers will void your warranty (and insurance adjusters will void your policy) against damage claims if you tow without supplemental brakes. Workhorse will void your chassis warranty if you tow more than 1,000 pounds without supplemental brakes; Ford stipulates 1,500 pounds.

Wear and tear — Supplemental brakes cut down on everyday wear and tear — on the tow bar and the bracket, and on the frame of the towed vehicle. So they last longer. And because they aren’t braking for two vehicles, your motorhome’s brakes last longer, also.

It just makes good sense Every other trailer on the road today has supplemental brakes fifth wheels, travel trailers, semi-trailers — they all have their own braking systems. When you’re towing a couple of extra tons — or more shouldn’t you have a supplemental braking system to stop it?

Which system is right for me?
* Test data — Motorhome: 34-foot 1996 Winnebago Adventurer, Ford Superduty chassis with a 460 gas engine; GVWR: 17,000 pounds; brakes: hydraulic four-wheel disc. Towed vehicle: 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora; GVWR: 4,690 pounds (actual test weight: 4,110 pounds). Braking pressure: 80 pounds of force directed to the brake pedal representing a “hard stop.”

Oil Prices Today

Oil Prices Today And what it means for the Rv Industry..

So As we all know Oil Prices Continue to Slide Day after Day it seems, But what does that have to do with the Rv Industry you ask?

Well it has a'lot to do with the Rv Industry when oil prices are low fuel prices tend to follow the same pattern..

What does the Low Oil Price mean for the Rv Industry?

Well It will help the Rv industry grow believe it or not it will increase sales and travel.

The effect is limitless when more people jump in there Rv and Travel there is more money spent in local economies where otherwise the cash might not be spent there if prices were high.

Now the flip side to low oil prices is that some people who own Rv's Obtained there wealth from the Oil Industry so they are bleeding cash everyday in the stock market if the are still invested.

The reason I bring this up is because I believe we will see below $2.00 a Gallon Very Soon And once that happens The Rv Park's And Resorts Will Fill up making it harder to get a reservation.

making it harder to get your Rv Serviced or repaired. So plan Ahead for your future travel plans what was once very Available yesterday is now a little harder to get into.

Also Enjoy the Cheaper Prices while they last because you know what they say here today gone tomorrow when it comes to a good price on Fuel...

Also if you are maybe looking to make a little extra cash from the Low oil Prices Have you seen how low some of the big Oil companies have become in cost per share Example being CVX Chevron Corporation Currently today Traded at $87.64 Compared to $133.00 In June of 2014 When the Price of oil was higher. Nobody knows where the Bottom is but It can be fun to predict...

So I will leave you with this Next time you stop for Fuel And Say Fill er Up Remember to thank Opec For trying to Regain its market share and giving you the gift of cheaper Fuel..

Rv InSpection 2005 Kodiak Rv

So Today I did a Rv Inspection well started one. Will have to finish it tomorrow.
But customer said her Carbon monoixide alarm would not stop going off. It is the one hardwired to the batteries. She was not plugged in the Rv only has one battery and needs two. I put two batteries in it and no more carbon monoxide alarm. They can go off when the voltage is low. However if it is going off it is better to be safe than sorry. Always Go to fresh Air and Always Have it looked at..

While performing the rest of the inspection found out the Plumbing had froze up from the recent cold weather.. So Now I am Repairing all the Broken Water Lines in the Rv.

There were several other little things but mostly all easy to simple fixes that wont even make it onto the customer's bill.. Once I am all done Since the customer is relatively new to Rving I will be Doing a Full Walk around with her on her Rv so she better understands all the functions of her coach..

Till next time Safe travels Everyone.. Please Subscribe and comment below.

Magnum MS 2812 Not Working Properly Fault code

So Today I fixed a Magnum MS2812 It Was in a Fault code lock out. So Customer said it showed 135 for the fault code. I talked to magnum Energy Tech Support because I have never heard of such a code. He informed me that it was internal data and that I should not be seeing it. So he then told me how to fix it. Here is how I did it..

Step 1 make sure you are on DC power only.

step 2 Remove controller from wall

step 3 Unplug the data cable from the controller.

step 4 on the Inverter there is a power button Hold it till the green light flashes rapidly then release

step 5 Inverter should be off because it Reset itself.

Step 6 go inside the coach and plug the controller back in

step 7 turn the inverter on

step 8 check to see if the unit is working and no longer in fault mode..

step 9 your done if it is working..

Note if your still having the same error you can hard reset your inverter by unhooking the 12 volt dc and waiting for 10 minutes. make sure everything is unplugged when you do this including the shore power the controller and all inverter's should be off.

Atwood 8535IV Not Turning on

Today's Job Was on a Atwood 8535IV Furnace.

Complaint: Customer stated Furnace was not turning on and would just click.

Diagnosis I found that the Control Board on the Atwood Furnace was not sending Power to the Blower Motor Which will not allow anything to turn on due to the Sail Switch not activating..

Solution And Fix We Replaced the Control board on the Furnace Tested furnace and it turned right on..

Now how i came to this conclusion is easy. I took a Volt meter and tested the Power wires. If you follow one of the red wires to the fan motor you will know whuch one to check for power..

It is a red wire using the on off switch inside the furnace I turned it on then checked for voltage on the wire and had nothing. you can also use a Test light if you prefer. And just poke the wire to see if it lights up.. That being said if it had power I would know that either the wire was loose which is the first thing i check or it had a bad blower motor. Hope this Helps someone Somewhere Please comment below and subscribe to my blog I dont have many Followers :( but one day I think that will change.. Thanks for reading and happy travels. Rv water heater luke warm water fix tip

quick video of a common mistake we see alot working on motorhomes.
